Registration – Priority and Open

Priority registration for the CHT Conference 2021 is open only to those who are CURRENT CHT members on or before December 31, 2020. The priority registration period will open January 15, 2021 and continue through Feb. 1, 2021. Open Registration is available to anyone beginning Feb. 2, 2021. Non-members must include $40 membership fee.

Membership Requirements

Anyone registering for the 2021 Conference who is not already a 2019 – 2021 member of CHT must pay the CHT membership fee of $40 to be applied to the 2021 – 2023 membership period. All registrants who pay the $40 CHT membership fee will join or renew for the period July 1, 2021 – June 30, 2023. 

Current 2019 -2021 members may chose to opt out of membership renewal and delete the $40 dues from your registration fee. Use the pull down menu next to membership and click on the “BLANK” field above the “1”.  If you opt out, and do not otherwise pay your dues, you will not be a CHT member after June 30, 2021. You will not be included in the CHT membership roster and will not receive the benefits of CHT Membership. 

Conference Fees and What You Will Receive

Full Conference Registration is $295 and includes 3 class units, Friday dinner and Keynote Presentation, Saturday lunch with Fashion Show and Awards, Sunday Brunch and business meeting. Cost of Pre-Conference workshops is not included. Class units: 1/2 day = 1 unit; 1 day = 2 units  Additional charges will apply for more than 3 units. 

Registration for a Preconference course only is allowed, but will not entitle the participate access to conference meals or events. 

Extra Class Units and Guest Meal+Event tickets are not stand alone purchases and should be made only to supplement your Full Conference Registration. Registration for conference classes requires a purchase of the Full Conference Registration.

Read the Conference Brochure Carefully

Please read course descriptions carefully as many have additional instructor fees and some require the student to provide materials and/or looms. 

It is highly recommended that you pre-select your course choices using the registration brochure before entering information online. 

All Material Fees noted in the conference descriptions are payable to the instructor. Class Angels collect all materials fees for instructors at the beginning of the class. Please have cash (or check) for exact amount. Electronic payments are not accepted. 

NO REFUNDS AFTER APRIL 15, 2021. LATE FEE OF $25 APPLIED WHEN REGISTERING AFTER April 15, 2021. 

Media Release

Media Release: I hereby grant to Contemporary Handweavers of Texas (CHT) and its authorized representatives permission to take photos and/or videos of my participation in the conference, including images of me and/or my handwork, and to use these photos and videos on the CHT website and as part of any future publications, brochures, or other printed material used to promote CHT, without payment of fees, royalties, special credit or other compensation. 


FAQs

How should I prepare for online registration? Use the online brochure to read about the classes offered. Consider printing pages 28-29. Using those pages, plan your class schedule and conference options. The grid on pages 8 – 9 can be used to prevent registering for classes with overlapping times. Those taking a Pre-Conference class should be aware that you will be in class through Friday morning, so you will not be able to take a Friday am or all-day class.

I have selected my 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice of preferred classes, but don’t see where to enter that on the online registration. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd options on the booklet form is for planning purposes. It helps you make a decision if a class has filled before you register.

Only select one class per time slot. The class that you select should be the one that you wish to take. The online registration shows all classes that currently have available seats.

My first choice class shows that there are no spaces available on the online registration. What should I do? You should select your 2nd choice of preferred classes and request a place on the Wait List for your 1st choice. If space become available, we will go in order of registration date / time and contact you to see if you’d prefer to switch.
