5/27/2019: CHT Conference Booklet – A Great Resource

As you are preparing for the conference you may realize you have a question like…
What times are the registration desk open?
What meals are included in my conference fees?
What supplies and fees does my class require?

You’ll find that the CHT Registration Booklet has the answer to these and many other of your questions. 
You will find what is included in conference registration on page 3 and the schedule for conference activities – including registration times is on page 6. You can look up your class fees and supply list in the booklet as well! There’s info about the Perennials Tour, Vendor Hall hours, class times, and much more.

5/25/2019: Hello Everyone!

We hope you are enjoying your holiday week-end and getting things together to pack for the CHT conference this coming week! Here are some things you need to know!
We are doing a few things differently this year!

Vendor Hall is open 2 full days FRIDAY 9 am – 5:30 pm plus Moonlight Madness 8 pm to 10 pm and SATURDAY 9 am – 5:00 pm. No reason not to have time to shop. Vendors will NOT be open Sunday.

Exhibits, including Member’s Exhibit, Fashion pieces and Instructors Show, are on display 2 full days FRIDAY 9 am – 5:30 pm and SATURDAY 9 am – 5:00 pm. During this time you may vote on your favorite piece for Member’s Choice. Exhibits are NOT open Sunday. Pick-up is 1 pm Sunday.

We have a NEW Raffle catergory called the SUPER Raffle presenting the chance to win these 4 items. The tickets are 1 for $20 or 3 for $50 and you do not need to be present to win.

Hell’s Half Acre Fiber Basket

  • 1 stainless steel 12 dent reed
  •  1 Bluster Bay Shuttle
  •  3 cones of yarn
  •  1 carved drop spindle
  • 1 skein of silk yarn

Scholarship Rep Weave Rug – all proceeds go to the scholarship fund

·         1 handwoven 100% cotton rug- woven and donated by Deb Harrison- 27″ wide x 43 1/2″ long. The stripe sequence is based on fabric woven in 1927 at the Deutsche Werkstätten, Dresden.

As in the past, we will be selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a guild raffle baskets full of wonderful items and you must be present to win for these drawings. These tickets are 1 for $2, 3 for $5, 6 for $10 and 14 for $20.

Here are some things you should think about packing besides the supplies listed for your class:
Materials Fees. Please be prepared with exact cash or a check made out to the instructor of your class for the class angel to collect at the beginning of your workshop or class.
Extension Cords/Power Strips.    If you’re bringing anything to your classes that needs to be plugged in – task lamp, sewing machine, bobbin winder, etc. – you are responsible for bringing your own extension cord and/or power strip to plug in your device.  Each room has several plugs, but a power strip or two may be helpful, so if you have one, throw it in your bag. 
CHT Name Tag Holder.   If you have attended a CHT conference in the past you probably have one of these and it is handy for your name tag, event tickets, and emergency contact slip. 
Clothes to Layer. Although we know the weather outside is warming up you never know if your room is going to be a compatible temperature to your body thermometer. Please bring garments to layer to fit your needs.

  • The Registration area will be open starting at 10:00 a.m. for packet pick-up.  Please be sure to bring your CHT name tag holder.
  • Pre-conference classrooms will be open no later than noon for you to set up.  Please be in your classroom, set up, and ready to go by 1:00 p.m. Arriving and setting up late is distracting for the teacher and other students.  So, be kind and be on time!!  Class angels will check you in and collect your materials fees (if applicable). Be sure to have exact cash or a check made out to the instructor for these fees.
  • Hotel check-in time is 3:00 p.m.  You may check in early, but you may not have access to your room until 3:00 — if the rooms are clean and ready, you’ll be given access.  The hotel can store your bags, if need be.
