Weaving the 2021 Challenge

Weaving inspiration comes to us from Nancy in San Antonio …

“I plan to go to the CHT 2021 Conference: A Fiber Runs Through It,  coming up Jun 2-6, 2021 at the Omni Colonnade San Antonio Hotel.  Our guild is working hard to make it safe and fun with great instructors. Rasa is heading up the Challenge Project, a table runner exchange. I like to get stuff done ahead of time. So I’m sharing mine, with hopes others will participate in the exchange. It’s canvas weave, titled Gully Erosion inspired by the roadside ditches in my neighborhood.”

Gully Erosion Table Runner

Some lucky weaver will get to take Nancy’s Gully Erosion runner home with them after the conference! Of course, the only way to take this home with you is to weave your own Inspired by Texas Water table Runner for the exchange.

You must be a member of CHT to attend. You can join before Dec 31, 2020 to take advantage of Priority Registration. Open Registration starts Feb 2, 2021.

Sharing our weaving with each other is at the heart of each CHT Conference. We’d love to see what you weaving for the Exchange, Members’ Exhibit or Fashion Show!

Hi…My first name is Judy…so I get a Wild Card I think. Does this mean I can use a design other than those on the list? I had planned to use a design from the Bateman Collection book (J. Spady et al), then was told by a friend that I needed to read the instructions. My last name begins with a P and I’m using a fine, Old linen for the warp in pebble/dirt color. Will this pass ?

Wild Card means pick whatever you want, hopefully something that stretches you. Looking forward to what you come up with!
